St. Patrick’s Day Programme in Scotland to focus on Investment, Tourism, and Cultural Links

Minister for Housing and Planning Jan O’Sullivan, TD stated that her visit to Scotland over St. Patrick’s weekend focuses on investment, tourism, and celebrating the strong cultural links between Scotland and Ireland.

Minister O’Sullivan had a comprehensive programme of events which took her to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Coatbridge. These included:

  • meetings with businesspeople and politicians;
  • events organised by Irish state agencies Tourism Ireland and Enterprise Ireland;
  • the Glasgow St. Patrick’s Day Ball;
  • the Coatbridge Irish Festival – the largest of its kind in Britain outside London; and
  • the National Day Reception hosted by Consul General Bourne in Edinburgh
