The book is by Dr Helen O’Shea, a lecturer in Irish history at the University of Edinburgh and the Open University. It focuses on Irish foreign policy in the 1950s and particularly Ireland’s role in the Cyprus Emergency.

The event was attended by 70 guests from academia, the Irish community, and University alumni groups, as well as journalists and arts and culture representatives.
