Min McEntee meets with Portuguese Sec of State for European Affairs

The Minister of State for European Affairs, Helen McEntee T.D., met with her Portuguese counterpart, Secretary of State for European Affairs Ana Paula Zacarias, in Iveagh House.
During the meeting Minister McEntee and Secretary of State Zacarias discussed the UK’s withdrawal from the EU, the next EU Budget (Multi-annul Financial Framework), and the EU’s Strategic Agenda.
Minister McEntee said “I am glad to have had the opportunity to welcome Secretary of State Zacarias to Ireland this afternoon and to discuss a range of EU issues. I also took the opportunity to thank the Portuguese Government for their total support for Ireland during the Brexit negotiations.”
During her visit to Ireland, Secretary of State Zacarias will meet with members of the Oireachtas’ Joint Committee on European Union Affairs. She will also give a briefing at the Institute of International and European Affairs on the new Strategic Agenda and the Future of Europe. Secretary of State Zacarias will visit the border to deepen the Portuguese government’s understanding of how this unique and invisible border operates on a daily basis.
