Minister for European Affairs launches new publication on EU Law in Ireland
31/5/11The Minister of State for European Affairs, Lucinda Creighton T.D., is to launch “EU law in Ireland” a new publication by Dr. Elaine Fahey of the School of Social Science and Law at the Dublin Institute of Technology. The launch will take place this evening at 6.30 pm at the DIT campus in Aungier Street. In addition to the launch of the book the DIT is also launching a new module of the same name – EU Law in Ireland.
In the book Dr. Fahey offers some reflections on EU Law as it affects legislation in Ireland following the Lisbon treaty. The book provides an up-to-date and comprehensive collection of materials, including relevant primary legislation, constitutional texts and key jurisprudence.
Commenting on the publication, Minister Creighton said:
"I am delighted to have been asked by Dr. Fahey to launch her book “EU law in Ireland”. It provides a valuable insight and guide to the post-Lisbon legal situation in this country and is an extremely welcome addition to the public record. This publication will be of major interest and practical use to students, academics, practitioners and Government and public servants, both in Ireland and Brussels."
