@HOME: Heartwarming documentary on Irish seniors in Australia embracing social media

Old Communities. New Media. Directed by Dr. Liam Burke, @HOME is a portrait of Melbourne’s ageing Irish community as they embrace social media to narrow the distance between Australia and Ireland. @HOME is a short documentary film that provides a loving portrait of emigrants who moved to the other side of the world when contact with Ireland was limited to occasional letters and a phone call once a year. The film also features Ireland’s Minister for Diaspora Affairs, Jimmy Deenihan T.D.

You can see the film in Melbourne, Australia at The Celtic Club on 27 October and in Ireland as part of the Waterford Film Festival from 6-8 November.
